Sequence is seeking a mid-level executive manager to serve as Sustainability / GHG Expert for one of the world’s largest and most respected global corporations.

A leader and manufacturer of commodity and specialty chemicals and petrochemical products with numerous global facilities and over 50,000 core employees, the organization is building a team of sustainability professionals to be its key leaders in developing out its global sustainability, energy and greenhouse gas program. Reporting directly to the head of sustainability who answers personally to the board and executive leadership, this is one of the industry’s most high profile positions currently available.

This key post would participate in shaping the firm’s sustainability program and serve as an expert for various corporate, production and manufacturing sites (owned or in JV / partnership locations) for the implementation of programs and processes designed to achieve sustainability goals, including: GHG reduction, energy consumption / efficiency, water conservation / conservation and material efficiency.

Responsibilities include arranging / coordinating training on GHG and energy accounting, sustainability, energy efficiency; and standardizing GHG and energy accounting methodologies / metrics across the board for the firm. This will include collecting, tracking and reporting GHG, energy, water, and material waste data, and developing an overall strategy and target goals to help achieve corporate sustainability goals. Also requires championing a strategy for responding to current and anticipated GHG regulations and standards.

Ideal candidate would have 5+ years experience with carbon and energy inventories in the petroleum or chemical industry, or other diversified multi-national manufacturing operation; strong technical expertise with GHG and energy related issues (including knowledge of GHG emissions accounting practices and GHG protocol); and comprehensive knowledge of the GHG Protocol WRI / WBCSD-2004, GRI / G-3 and ISO-14064. Also, background in GHG and carbon trading programs, GHG protocols and accounting, energy efficiency strategies, corporate social responsibility programs, and life cycle assessment modeling techniques desired.

The position is based in Saudi Arabia.
